CNC Machine Sales Engineer
Mooresville, NC (travel to SC, NC, VA)
Description: CNC Machine Tool Sales Engineer for the sale of new Citizen Cincom, Miyano, and Seibu Wire EDM machines, various machine tool accessories, as well as other related CNC products in the territory of NC, SC and VA (all or split with other sales representatives).
Responsibilities for this position will include (but not limited to) contacting customers via phone and face to face meetings, assessing customers’ needs, preparing quotations, closing sales, account maintenance. As the local Sales Engineer, you will be visiting industrial facilities and manufacturing plants large and small. Success will be evaluated through measurement of market share, sales results, and customer satisfaction ratings.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- 3 years experience in machine tool industry
- CNC machining knowledge is preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills
- Detail oriented
- Excellent time management & organizational skills
- Strong work ethic, positive attitude
- Ability to multi-task
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel & PowerPoint
- Develop and maintain relationships with various level of end users.
- Basic math skills
- Ability to forecast sales for given territory and supply weekly/monthly activity reports.

Part-Time Office Assistant Description: Requires great attention to detail and excellent customer service skills to help with the day-to-day activities of a busy sales & service office. A self-starter who can identify what needs to be done and see it through to completion.
Responsibilities
- Answer & direct calls. Greet and assist visitors
- Retrieve, open & distribute daily mail and sign for deliveries.
- Order, stock, and/or deliver office, facility & safety supplies.
- Maintain building inspections schedule. Report computer/phone issues to IT
- Create and update sales quotes as requested
- Order sales literature & maintain literature files. File and maintain literature cabinets and racks
- Enter parts orders as requested by customers and the Service department
- Collect and organize company credit card receipts & scan receipts for expense reports
- Assist with internal & external events and shows
- Make travel arrangements as requested
- Other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required by the position
Requirements
- 2-3 years administrative – office experience
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent organizational & multi-tasking skills
- Friendly and helpful with the ability to work well in a small team environment
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently; a self-starter with the ability to take initiative when required
- Excellent phone and customer service skills
- Good sense of humor
- Collaborate with sales and service team to ensure all customer needs are met.

- Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Will work with QuickBooks software. Prior knowledge useful.

- Frequent regional travel: Serve customers throughout NC, SC, and VA, with overnight travel typically averaging 3–4 nights per week. Travel may vary based on customer and installation needs.
- Premium technology: Work with Citizen Cincom Swiss-type lathes, Miyano fixed-headstock lathes, Seibu Wire EDM equipment, and related CNC systems.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Install, start up, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair Citizen Cincom and Miyano machines at customer facilities.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, CNC-control, and software issues.
- Identify and replace failed components; test, adjust, align, and verify machine operation after repairs.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical service manuals.
- Communicate clearly with customers before, during, and after each service visit, including arrival timing, departure, findings, recommended repairs, and needed follow-up. Complete service documentation including photos and communicate follow-up needs to the Adept team.
- Provide occasional remote support and assist with machine installations, preventive maintenance, and customer training.
- Work collaboratively with the service team by sharing knowledge, calling on one another when needed, suggesting improvements, and using the team’s collective experience to solve problems.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Strong hands-on CNC troubleshooting and repair experience; experience with a machine tool builder, distributor, or manufacturing facility is required.
- Solid mechanical and electrical diagnostic ability, including hydraulics, pneumatics, CNC controls, and software.
- Swiss-style CNC experience is highly valued, especially Citizen Cincom and Miyano. Applications experience is also a plus.
- Ability to work independently at customer facilities while collaborating closely with teammates and factory support when needed.
- Strong customer communication and follow-through, including making sure the customer is informed before leaving a jobsite and understands the status of the machine and any next steps.
- Frequent travel throughout NC, SC, and VA, typically 3–4 overnight stays per week.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with the ability to safely perform the physical requirements of field service work using appropriate lifting or material-handling equipment when needed.
